(GAP) - Safety Lock: This is the default "off" setting when you first turn on the device to prevent accidental operation.
 
(Soft) - Beginner / Sensitive: ALWAYS START HERE. Use this for your first several weeks, for small pets, for pets with sensitive gums, and for general plaque maintenance.
 
(Comfort) - Standard Plaque: Move to this mode once your pet is fully comfortable. It provides more power for effective plaque removal on most dogs.
 
(Strong) - Stubborn Plaque: Use only for tough, sticky plaque on large teeth. Not recommended for daily use.

Open it and access the VIDEO and PHOTO folders.

Playback Issue?

If your video playback on your computer is completely black/or if files are corrupted, then your issue is your default video player. 
Your device may be missing the required video codec.
Install VLC Media Player — available for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. 
NOTE: VLC player supports most video formats and resolves playback issues instantly.

How to adjust Date & Time stamp?

Adjusting steps:

Power off the device and unscrew the top to access the USB port.

Edit the file using this format:  YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS Y/N
                    Example: 2026-01-26 19:20:35 Y
                    Y = show timestamp on video
                    N = hide timestamp on video

2. Format the microSD Card (Windows)

Open File Explorer.
Right-click the microSD card drive and select “Format.”
Choose FAT32 as the file system.
Select “Quick Format.”
Click “Start” to begin formatting.

3. Format the microSD Card (Mac)
Insert the microSD card into your Mac.
Open Disk Utility.
Select the microSD card from the left panel.
Click Erase.
For “Format,” select MS-DOS (FAT).
Click Erase to begin formatting.

If the camera remains in STANDBY MODE (solid GREEN light) with no activity for 60 seconds, it will automatically turn off

2. Low or Insufficient Battery Charge

If the device powers off shortly after turning on:
Charge the device using a standard 5V / 1A–2A USB adapter.
Charge for at least 2 hours before testing again.
Try a different USB cable or power source.
Press and hold the power ON/OFF button for 3–5 seconds.

3. No microSD Card Detected

2. Use an Alternative Media Player
 Install a media player that supports standard AVI video formats (e.g., VLC Media Player).
After installation, right-click the recorded video file.
Select “Open with” and choose the installed media player.

Not Recording. What should I do?

1. If won’t Turn On / No LED:
Charge with a standard 5V / 1A–2A adapter for at least 2 hours.
Try another cable or power source.
Press and hold the button for 3–5 seconds.
If the LED lights up or blinks, the device is powered on.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

If the device becomes unresponsive:

How do I set the time and date on my pen camera?

If you want to change the date and time by yourself, the procedure is very simple. On your computer, plug in your pen camera. "A new Removable disc should appear. Now, with the "notepad" application of the same computer, create a file called "time.txt." Setting the TIME AND DATE is done by editing a text file named  the time.txt .txt in the root directory of the device's memory card. Open the time.txt file in an editor like Notepad and set the proper date and time along with ‘Y’  or ‘N’ at the end.
For example, if it is set 2022-02-26, 15:20:35 Y (to enable display on video files) or N (if you do not want the date and time stamp displayed on video files) -you will need to edit this data with the correct TIME and DATE.
After saving the file, disconnect the video camera from the computer and turn it on.

Unscrew the top of the Spy Cam Pen to expose the USB port. Connect the USB cable to the Spy Cam Pen and connect the other end to your computer. Wait for the Spy Cam Pen micro SD memory card device icon to appear on your computer desktop. (Or look at your computer’s removable drives for the SD card.) Double click on the icon/removable drive to open and download the video footage and photos onto your computer hard drive.
